Lifelong Learning at UBC is Extended Learning's registration system and student portal. Use the Lifelong Learning system to register for courses, apply to programs, request transcripts and more.
Follow these step-by-step instructions to create a new account, login with your temporary username or login with your Campus Wide Login (CWL). Please read the instructions carefully and contact us if you have any questions or need assistance.
I am a new Lifelong Learning student
- I am not a UBC student and/or I don't have a CWL
- This is my first time creating a student account using the Lifelong Learning Student Portal
Instructions:
- Navigate to "I am a new Lifelong Learning student".
- Create a temporary account using your primary email address.
- You will receive a password activation link to your email used to create the account.
- If you registered for a course, you will have received instructions for creating your UBC Campus Wide Login (CWL) account which will provide access to all UBC systems. Look for an email titled, "Action Required: UBC CWL Account Setup" from "The University of British Columbia and follow the instructions contained. If you have not received the email and it has been more than 24 hours, please contact us.
- If you have not registered for a course at the time of creating a new user account in the Lifelong Learning Student Portal, you will need to activate your password within 60 minutes of receiving the email notification. Look for an email titled "Welcome to Lifelong Learning at UBC" from "The University of British Columbia and follow the instructions to complete your temporary account set up and choose a password. Doing so will let you login to register for a course later or apply for a program.
I have a temporary username
- I have already created a user account using the "I am a new Lifelong Learning student" option
- I received an email to create a password and I have created and activated my password
- I haven’t created a UBC CWL account yet
Instructions:
- Navigate to "I have a temporary username".
- Login using your primary email that was used to create your account.
- Use the password you created and activated via the email link you received. The email address you entered when creating your temporary profile is your username.
- Continue to access your Lifelong Learning Student Portal by using this temporary login in the "I have a temporary username" portal.
- If you were not able to create a password within 60 minutes of clicking the activation link and your link has expired, click "Forgot Password" under "I have a temporary account" to receive a new link.
- Upon completion of a course registration, you will receive an email with your UBC CWL account credentials.
I have a UBC Campus Wide Login (CWL)
- I am currently or was previously a student, faculty or staff member at UBC, and I already have a UBC CWL account
Instructions:
- Navigate to "I have a UBC Campus Wide Login (CWL)"
- Log in using CWL username
- You will be redirected to a CWL login page where you can enter your CWL username and password
Can’t remember your username or not sure if you have a CWL?
- You will have a CWL username and password if you are currently or were previously a student, faculty or staff member at UBC.
- If you've forgotten the username you created for your Campus-Wide Login (CWL), visit the CWL Account Recovery page and follow the prompts to retrieve your CWL Login.
