institute overview
We are currently developing plans for the 2010 Summer Institute in Sustainability, which will take place July 5-9. Please bookmark this page and join our email subscription list for programming updates.
Sustainability is now a key issue for organizations of all sizes. Both the public and private sector are facing increasing pressure to implement new sustainability programs, improve upon existing initiatives, and track and report their “carbon footprint”.
The Summer Institute in Sustainability is an intensive professional development program targeted to administrators in corporations, local and provincial governments, and universities and colleges who are working to integrate sustainability as a core value in their organization.
This is your chance to partake in an intensive and intimate educational experience that will leave you better prepared to take sustainability to a whole new level in your organization.
You'll be interacting with a phenomenal group of speakers and other Institute participants keenly aware of the need to develop sustainability initiatives that can make a difference.
Thanks for the support!

In July 2009 UBC Continuing Studies and the University of Washington hosted the second annual Summer Institute in Sustainability.
The Institute brought together participants from diverse backgrounds, careers, and experiences. Attendees came from across the continent and as far away as the Bahamas and Saudi Arabia. Many thanks to all of our engaging speakers who helped to make the SIS a huge success!
