explorASIAN at UBC Robson Square


Join Continuing Studies at UBC Robson Square in May for two community forums organized in partnership with the Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Society, The Laurier Institution and CBC Radio as part of the ninth annual explorASIAN Festival celebrating Pan-Asian arts and culture.

explorYOUTH Forum

Vancouver has the most culturally diverse youth population in Canada. Over the next decade, this multicultural generation (M-generation) will have a huge impact on our institutions and communities. Join us in a lively discussion with a panel of future leaders from the M-generation.

Moderators: Margaret Gallagher and Tetsuro Shigematsu, CBC Radio One.

Panelists:

  • Christie Charles, student in film studies at Capilano College, member of Musqueam band
  • Matthew Huang, Olympic swimmer, UBC student and "One of 25 to Watch in 2005" (The Vancouver Sun)
  • Erin Morissette, student in SFU's "Undergraduate Semester in Dialogue" program and a member of one of the teams that won the "21 Places for the 21st Century" ideas competition
  • Andrew Ramlo, Urban Futures Incorporated
  • Carlo Sayo, graduate of Emily Carr in Communications Design, founding member of the Filipino-Canadian Youth Alliance
