About the Centre for Cultural Planning and Development

The UBC Continuing Studies Centre for Cultural Planning and Development was launched in August 2011 to address the growing international demand for education and training programs in the area of cultural planning and to further develop the broader field of cultural planning and development. The Centre was made possible by a founding investment by 2010 Legacies Now and the Province of British Columbia.

Cultural planning is a rapidly evolving integrated approach to the development of well-planned and creative communities supported by vibrant cultures and creative economies. The practice of cultural planning is being embraced by a growing number of Canadian, US, European, and other jurisdictions around the world.

The UBC Centre for Cultural Planning and Development will offer a wide range of courses and programs beginning with online professional development courses and a 100% online UBC Certificate in Cultural Planning.
